Ventilation Ducting Supports

This was a team effort project with a couple friends from MakerPlace.  I produced the parts from plate in this project.  I made a press brake die to flatten the 3/8" flame cut steel plates in preparation for CNC plasma cutting.  I ended up sorting out some problems with the CNC plasma cutter and dialed in settings that produced a square cut edge on the plates.  After popping in some holes the other two guys took over and welded them together.  The process used to weld was dual-shield flux-core GMAW.

The most interesting part of this project was the application.  These were designed with a 20x safety factor, which we all thought was crazy at the time.  Months later we found out that these were to be used in a rocket test facility somewhere in San Diego, then the safety factor made sense.
